Fax Service

You can use fax by connecting it to Grandstream HT 486.

Configuration of Grandstream HT 486:

• Connect your computer to LAN port of PLFON box

• Go to website: http://192.168.2.1

• Type "admin" as password and log in

If both your computer and Grandstream are conected with the same router you can also reach Grandstream's web interface via WAN port.
To enable WAN access in Grandstream call ***129 from the telephone connected to Grandstream's phone port.
Now the device's control panel is available at the IP address, which Grandstream obtained from DHCP server (router). To find out that address you must lift the handset of analog phone connected to Grandstream and dial ***02. The address will be read by voice menu system of ATA.

• In "Advanced settings" tab as a first codec set PCMU and as a second: G729 and Fax Mode as T-38.

• Delete "config server path" box and save settings.
  

• enable error correction mode (often referred to as ECM),
  
• disable V.34 protocol
  
• decrease the speed of fax transmission to 9600 bauds (bits per second).
